The husband has spent the last couple of days cleaning and reorganizing his office. It made me realize I had let mine go, as well.
Most people do their major cleaning in the spring. We do ours in the winter. I don’t know why. What I do know is the busyness of the last six months has made it easier for me to justify stacking things in piles to deal with later. Anything that didn’t deal with writing was put aside while I worked on the book. But I was starting to feel the piles pressing in on me, so I caught the cleaning virus and started to organize.
If I’m honest, it was a dodge from writing. It needed to be done and it’s been bothering me, but I didn’t have to do it today.
Feels good to get it done, though.

I look at cleaning my desk space as another way of getting some fresh air. When the clutter gets to bothering me, spending time tidying gives me new enthusiasm for what I need to focus on doing. It also leaves more room for those crowded thoughts to be nurtured and grow.
